Our Story
Better Athletes Begin with Better Humans
The Better Athlete was founded on a simple belief: an athlete's greatest success is not measured only by wins, rankings, scholarships, or statistics. It is also measured by the person they become along the way.
Athletes face pressure to perform, compete, and constantly improve. But true development goes far beyond physical ability. It includes character, confidence, discipline, resilience, emotional well-being, academic growth, and the ability to positively impact others.
The Better Athlete was created to support the whole person behind the athlete.
Founded by Erick Fenelus, our platform brings together the people and resources athletes need to grow in every area of life. From coaches, trainers, and rehabilitation specialists to tutors, mentors, and mental-health professionals, we help athletes and their families build a connected support system centered on long-term development.
We believe sports can be one of life's greatest classrooms. They can teach responsibility, perseverance, teamwork, humility, leadership, and respect. Our role is to help athletes carry those lessons beyond the game, into their relationships, education, careers, and communities.
Because becoming a better athlete matters.
Becoming a better human matters even more.
About Us
Developing the Person. Supporting the Athlete.
The Better Athlete is a whole-person development platform designed to help athletes succeed in sports and in life.
We connect athletes and their families with professionals who support physical performance, academic achievement, mental and emotional well-being, recovery, personal growth, and character development.
Our approach begins with the human being, not the position they play, the team they represent, or the numbers on a scoreboard. We recognize that every athlete has unique goals, challenges, responsibilities, and experiences. That is why we focus on building personalized support systems that meet athletes where they are and help them become who they are capable of becoming.
For some athletes, growth may mean improving their strength, speed, or skills. For others, it may mean building confidence, recovering from an injury, managing pressure, improving in school, becoming a stronger teammate, or learning how to lead with integrity.
We believe the most successful athletes are not only talented. They are accountable, resilient, compassionate, disciplined, self-aware, and prepared to contribute to something greater than themselves.
Our mission is to help athletes become stronger competitors, healthier individuals, thoughtful leaders, and positive members of their communities.
At The Better Athlete, we are not simply preparing athletes for the next game.
We are helping prepare them for life.
